Another moving tribute to Richard Newman

I have watched my boys, Bear, Angus and Hugo play football year after year on most ovals in South Australia and I can honestly say the Walkerville Under 15's come back in the 4th quarter last Sunday was one of the best and most exciting passages of play I have ever witnessed. The boys drew emormous inspiration from Richard Newman 's symbolic R drawn on their hand by their coach Paul and they played with guts, courage and the true Walkerville spirit. It was one of the 'special' days when everything came together in the end for the boys. It will be remembered by all who had the privilege to watch their determination and strength they drew from each other. We all felt that we were playing with '19' on the field- and the boys would not yield. It was magical football afternoon and Richard would have just loved it and would have been so proud of his "boys". Yours sincerely So Laidlaw |
How old to play for Walkerville in 2012 Next season we will be putting together teams from U6 through to U15s and perhaps even an U16s. To play in certain ages you need to be born in the following calendar years: U15 - 1997 U16.5 - 1.7.95 to 31.12.96 - not confirmed if age group will be entered.
