End of Season Information

Dear WJFC community,

For all those involved from U 6 to U 10 the 2011 season has drawn to a close.
Thank you to everybody who volunteered their time to make these kids get a kick and a catch every week. A special thanks to all those involved with coaching and team managing.
For the  u 11's, 12 Red and 15's congratulations on making finals and good luck over the next 3 weeks.
The 12 Whites, 13's and 14's bad luck but I am sure you had a productive and enjoyable season. Again thanks to all those in the community who made these games happen every week and of course especially to coaches and team managers.

2012 looms as another exciting year for the WJFC where we will again strive to ensure the long term success of the club by seeking to field multiple under 8 sides along with our u 6 team which for it's first year was such a success.

All these things do not happen without a small band of extremely dedicated people willing giving time. This starts with the committee but also flows onto coaches and team managers.

COACHING and TEAM  MANAGING

If next year or anytime in the future you would like to have a go at the very gratifying job of coaching at any level we wish to hear from you. You can be specific about what age groups etc or you can simply say that if needed you would be happy to stick up your hand. As a club we would like to develop a wider network of not only existing coaches but potential future ones also.
The same applies to team managing roles. This is a great way to broaden your network of families who are involved in the football club community.

Should anyone wish to simply express an interest in either of these roles for any age group please forward your details with which role interests you ( or both! ) to the following email

WJFC@gmail.com

CLUB SECRETARY

We are also seeking to fill this all important role for the 2012 season as unfortunately Mal Duxbury has had to step aside due to other commitments. This role would ideally be suited to someone who has enough time to be the hub of all information flows through the club.
More specifically all information that flows to or from NEMJFA ( our association body ), to or from committee, to or from individual teams and their managers and  finally is the first point of contact for everyone either within our club ( that is not team specific ) or even outside of it principally through our website.
A strong skill set in email and mircosoft office (or similar ) software is extremely useful as is ready access to the Internet and email.
A background in administration or communication would be complementary skills.
It is estimated that this role done properly needs 15 hours a week between the months of Feb throu April but decreases significantly after this time until seasons end.
You would work closely with myself Martin Palmer as Chair (assuming reappointment, happy to take offers of succession! ) and David Chapman as deputy Chair.
Please if you have any inclination or desire to help out do not hesitate to express an interest, whatever your skill sets.
I have deliberately tried to set out skills which will make the job easier but please do not feel intimidated if you do not possess these as you will receive ample support from the committee while you settle in.
Anyone can make a difference.

OUR CLUB, which plays such an important community role, CANNOT FUNCTION WITHOUT SOMEONE WILLING TO FILL THIS ROLE.
Please give it your strongest consideration.

Please put contact details to me at

REGISTRATION DAY 2012
Has been set down for Sunday the 5th Feb. Put it in your diary and keep an eye on the website.

Finally it is with much sadness I acknowledge the passing of James Tizard who unselfishly gave this club so much time over the past 8 years, many of these serving as club treasurer and unofficial web guru. He was a generous and gentle soul. Our thoughts go out to Susan , Leo and CC.
I know James would agree to finish this newsletter with

Go cats!
