Walkerville 9 12 def Hope Valley 6 10 After a tardy start when we simply had too few really prepared to commit their body at the contest, the team showed some of the best commitment and discipline we have seen this season. After, slowly at first, regaining some ground (2nd quarter), a 5 goal 3rd quarter saw us establish a lead that was always going to be hard for Hope Valley to overcome. The last quarter, against the wind, was when the commitment and discipline shone through. Boys put their bodies on the line. Great common sense was shown in working the ball to the boundary when necessary, but the discipline to keep attacking was still there, as players ran from behind to support their team-mate with the ball. This was a win to be savoured and a great start to the rest of the season as we build toward finals. See you Thursday boys! How old to play for Walkerville in 2012 Next season we will be putting together teams from U6 through to U15s and perhaps even an U16s. To play in certain ages you need to be born in the following calendar years: U15 - 1997 U16.5 - 1.7.95 to 31.12.96 - not confirmed if age group will be entered.
