U14 v Salisbury - Sunday, 16 May 2010

Walkerville 19 14 def Salisbury 3 4

The challenge was set through training and the team responded well. Generally we did the good team things better than at any time this year – smothers, tackles, shepherds, cleaner hands at ground level, running through the ball, support around the contested ball, run and carry and kicks over the line were all on display. A couple of excellent passages, coast to coast, that resulted in goals were evidence of how well the team put it together for most of the game. There is still much work to be done, but there were many pleasing signs of development we can build on.

With just 18 players available, thanks to David Grant and Campbell Wildman for doubling up after playing U13s earlier in the day. Both acquitted themselves very well.

No game this week, but we will train on Thursday as normal.

See you there boys!
